UltraSonic Air Flow Sensor Engineered to Increase Air Quality Control
Mine Radio Systems (MRS) Ultrasonic Airflow Sensor (UAFS) is the industries most reliable and accurate air flow sensor designed for mining and tunneling applications. Engineered based on the ultrasonic time-of-flight principle, the UAFS application provides mining and tunneling operators with the most precise monitoring and warning solution available.
MRS FloSonic consists of a control module and two transducers mounted diagonally on opposite sides of a tunnel. Once hardware installation is complete the tunnel’s dimensional parameters must be programmed into the control module. Direct readings are easily obtained locally via the LED display or remotely via Modbus® and/or an isolated 4-20mA output.
Unlike many other commercially available air flow sensors, FloSonic monitors the air flow through a complete drift cross section. This technology virtually eliminates the errors associated with turbulent flow near the sensor. Ultrasonic bursts are transmitted between the transducers. The effect of the air velocity on these bursts is measured and used to precisely calculate the air flow or air velocity. MRS FloSonic reporting accuracy is the industry’s most reliable; as its reports are independent of temperature, pressure, and humidity which can create a false or inaccurate reading.
MRS has over 400 installations at Mine and Tunnel sites in over 50 countries world wide. Download MRS Corporate Case Studies to get an in depth perspective and understand of many unique and challenging installations from around the world.
